Crafting Beauty Through Ironwork Artistry
Rebecca Lloyd has been forging iron since 1994. Since completing a national diploma of restoration blacksmithing at Herefordshire college of technology in 1996, she has been exploring the limits of the craft at her workshop in the Adelaide Hills.
The business name ELEMENTAL was chosen to highlight a deep connection with the Earth and the natural materials found in it and on it. Traditionally using fire to manipulate iron is a raw, almost primaeval process that feels directly connected to the whole of the planet, harnessing Air, Fire, Water and Earth. The logo, the Chartres Cathedral labyrinth, represents a journey over many years that is ongoing. The path and the culmination of life experiences that has led to the work she has produced and the evolution of her practice.
